Ethnopopgirl has her Ph.D. in Folklore & Ethnomusicology from Indiana University. She studies music making, technoculture, gender and communication, not in any particular order. When not teaching or working as an administrator, she acts, writes essays and fiction, makes documentary and ethnographic films, plays piano and clarinet (but not at the same time – she tried that in high school and it just doesn’t work unless you’re Zaphod Beeblebrox), runs, cooks lots of delicious food, and tries to have some kind of private life.
